- Use resources available
There are a wide array of resources available on the Internet. You will
most likely need to consult resources at some point during your course.
This website provides you with multiple sources, which can be used.
One section, in particular, will help you to evaluate whether the Internet
site you visit is valid. Check out these resources in the “Are
There Resources For Me?” section of the Learning Online website.
- Build a support system
Even though you are alone, physically, in an online course, you don’t
have to be alone. Most online courses offer multiple means of communicating
- chat, e-mail, discussions, etc. Learn to use these features early
so you can interact with other students. If you support and encourage
each other, you will have a pleasant online experience.
- Check your grades
Monitor your grades, under the “My Grades” button, regularly
throughout the semester. Don’t wait until the end to find you
have missed an assignment or are just shy 2 points to get an “A”.
- Manage your time
Check out the “Skills for Success”
area of this section in order to learn how to manage your time.
